Membership of the APAes brings many benefits and involves a commitment to appropriate industry practices and quality standards to safeguard the image, integrity and professionalism of the member, the academy and the aesthetic therapy profession. Membership of the academy is open to all who are interested in or are practitioners of aesthetic therapy.

It also creates career and/or business opportunities for yourself in the industry, such as an Aesthetician working in skin-care clinic, a Medical Aesthetician assists physician in aesthetics treatments in cosmetic surgery, dermatology, research and clinical studies and camouflage therapy, a Manufacturer Representative, Marketer, Cosmetic Buyer, Aesthetics Writer/Editor, Educator and/or as a Business Owner.

Who may Join?
 

Members of the academy come from all types of business and industry and are involved in various aspects of aesthetic therapy.

Membership is graded into categories which reflect the members practical experience, professional achievements, and formal education. Members are encouraged to upgrade their status as their career progresses.

APAes membership is a prerequisite to becoming a Certified Practicing Aestheticians (CPAes).

Professional Membership

Members are graded in one of the following categories:

(a) Affiliate Member

• Those working or interested in aesthetic therapy, but without formal qualifications.

• Affiliate members may upgrade to Associate member status upon completion of CPAes qualification examination, or attainment of significant practical experience in aesthetic therapy.

(b) Associate Member (AMAPAes)

• Holders of recognised tertiary (or degree) qualifications in aesthetic therapy or CPAes certification and or recognised professional qualifications who have commenced an active career in aesthetic therapy

• Those with significant practical aesthetic therapy experience.

(c) Associate Fellow (AFAPAes)

• Has been an associate member for three years or such shorter or longer period as determined by the APAes board at its discretion; and

• Is a CPAes

(d) Fellow (FAPAes)

• Has been an Associate Fellow and CPAes for at least five years, may apply for membership as a Fellow.

Students Membership

A package has been developed to assist full-time students of aesthetic therapy to join the APAes at reduced rates. Currently is totally FREE. Student members are encouraged to associate with practising members prior to entering the workforce.

 

Corporate Partnership

Partner of APAes is a strategic alliance program for friends and supporters of APAes. As a Partner of APAes, you must agree to support APAes in the following ways:

• Accept APAes members, Certified Practising Aestheticians and CPAes qualification for employment in your company.

• Specify CPAes or CPAes qualification as an acceptable requirement in your employment advertisement for aesthetics therapy.

As a Partner of APAes, your benefits are:

• Your company name will be clearly display on our website under “PARTNER OF APAes”.

• Your company will be informed of events organized by APAes.

• You will be allowed to use the above “Partner of APAes” logo on your letterhead and other
  communication materials.

• Your company will be provided with potential candidates with CPAes certification and/or qualification for your recruitment activities.

• Your membership as “Partner of APAes” currently is totally FREE.

Membership Fee

Currently, the membership fees for all categories are free. However, there will be a one time processing fee of S$200 for Professional Membership only.
