Why Aesthetics Therapy?
Aesthetician derives
from the Greek 'aesthetikos'
and Latin 'aesthetica,'
a branch of philosophy
relating to the forms
and nature of beauty.
Aesthetician is the
international term for
beauty therapist, a
specialist who provides
preventative care for
skin and offers
treatments to keep skin
healthy and attractive.
Whether an aesthetician
uses grooming practices
such as make-up, waxing,
electrolysis or the more
therapeutic styles such
as, massage, facials and
body treatments, the
ultimate objective is to
improve the outward
appearance of their
client.
Aestheticians work
extensively on the human
body, therefore they are
required to undergo
comprehensive studies in
Anatomy & Physiology,
Skin Biology, Skin
Science and Disorders,
Cosmetic Chemistry and
Nutrition. They are
trained to assess their
client from a holistic
point of view
determining the effects
of stress and their
consequences on the
overall appearance and
well being of the
client.
In recent years, the
public has grown more
interested in the health
of their skin and body
than ever before. Skin
care salons and new
beauty services have
appeared to satisfy the
public's rising
interest. As the demand
for these new treatments
soars, more positions
await qualified
professionals.
It creates career
opportunities for
yourself, such as an
Aesthetician working in
skin-care clinic, a
Medical Aesthetician
assists physician in
aesthetics treatments in
cosmetic surgery,
dermatology, research
and clinical studies and
